    Flashback Fashion – The 90s!

Hello there, BE followers! I hope your day has been great so far. For me its has been a great weekend and an even better start of the week because the story I was waiting for finally got published in the Times of Chandigarh. So I was asked to contribute to a story on how 90s fashion is coming back and what can you do to get the look – which is affordable and people can relate to.

At first – I thought to myself  – oh my god, 90s! I’ve always been a 60s fashion girl. I totally admired that era – edgy cuts, collared dresses, feminine yet cool! And then were was 90s fashion – an era that takes me back to my early teen years. It was an era of POP.  Spice girls, Madonna, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey to name a few – were all over the place. I consider that era of ‘let’s try everything and look crazy’. Literally! For me, it wasn’t the best time when it comes to fashion, but if you ignore all the crazy stuff and look at every fashion accessory/ clothing from the 90s individually – you will find some really amazing stuff. I think its all about balancing and layering it right. More than pop – I think can relate more to grunge/ rock fashion from the 90s . It think it was really cool and that’s what I chose to do for the story. I picked up the basics – a good denim jacket, straight high waist jeans, a chunky belt and ankle length boots. I decided to do two looks – one with the denim jacket and one with the plaid shirt. Plaid was BIG in the 90s – it still is. It’s one of those forever kind of things. I couldn’t not do it 🙂 I hope you guys these looks!

    Not a little black dress

final1 Not a little black dressfinal1 Not a little black dress

Ahoy friends! I hope this September is gliding along smoothly for you! I’m suffering from tired Tuesday this afternoon, so instead of being productive I’m day dreaming.

Coming to the outfit. I had this black dress from a very long time, but I never wore it because it was full length and full length stuff doesn’t suit me (story of short people). It never occurred to me to get this dress altered until recently. I am not a big fan of short dresses, I really like wearing knee length dresses and three fourths (they make me look taller :)). There are many ways to layer this dress, I’ve paired this up oxford shoes because I wanted to do a minimal sort of look. This dress can also be paired up with a denim jacket (perfect for October kinda weather) or a plaid shirt and boots (if you wish to go grunge).

Got more ideas? Would love to know!

    Until next time!
